What do we believe about Halloween?
While many Christians may have strong opinions about Halloween, we choose to view simply as a chance to display light (literally & spiritually) and to live out the fruit of Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control).
We choose to be present for our neighborhood and city, not absent.
We choose to light up our church and invite people in, not keep it dark and keep people away.
We choose to teach well about “All Saints Day” and “All Hallowed Eve” and its origins, and to be a prayerful presence to those who practice darker parts of Halloween.

“Hallowed Prayer” all month of October

Beginning on October 1 & continuing for each day in October, we invite you to join us on a “hallowed prayer” journey. Each day will consist of a Scripture, a short meditation, and ways to pray personally and for the city of Salem. Salem is a beautiful city that we love. We want to see it flourish, and we believe it will flourish to its greatest potential when faithful believers in Jesus pray for it and serve it in the love of Christ. Join us!

There are so many unique people in Salem. All of us are unique. And all of us can uniquely encounter God from that exact place of uniqueness. For October 2026 then we have chosen to reflect on 31 different encounters Jesus has with people in the gospels. And then we encourage you to pray for people around you every day.
